Grainfather – Refractometer.

Measures the specific gravity or brix of unfermented wort.

This will allow you to take instant gravity measurements during mash run-off or during the boil. It works like a hydrometer except you only need a few drops and there is no need to cool a trial jar or liquid before taking a reading. Using a refractometer lets you check the progress of your brew so you can make adjustments along the way. A valuable tool for all grain and extract brewers.
